Moreni is a town in Romania located approximately 100 kms due N-N-E from Bucharest. The population is about 20,000. Moreni is located in a peaceful hilly area quite near to the Carpathian Mountains.
       The first evidence of the town's existance dates since 1584. One hundred later, in 1691 to be more precise Moreni became the first town of Romania and the third town in the World where petroleum has been extracted. Since then the town revolved mainly around theis industry.
